Troubleshooting common issues

Scanning
The QR code doesn't scan at all Print it bigger, keep a light background with a dark code, and don't crop the white margin. A large logo can also cause problems. → Download and print
It scans, but opens the wrong page Change the destination. The printed code stays the same. → Change where a QR code points
People see "This code is no longer active" The QR code or its project is archived. Restore it. → Archive and restore QR codes
People see "This QR code is inactive" Your free trial has ended and you have not subscribed. Your codes, pages and trails are paused. Subscribe before the deletion date in your email to switch them on again. → When the trial ends
People see "This code has expired" or "This code has reached its scan limit" The code has an expiration date or scan limit. Change or remove it in Edit Content → Advanced Settings. → Conditional redirection
People see "This page isn't ready yet" or "This page is currently offline" The landing page is not published. Click Publish. → Publish, save and undo
People see "This code doesn't lead anywhere" The address is mistyped, or the code belongs to a deleted account.
It works on qrforge.link but not on my own domain Check that the domain is Active and linked to the code's project. → Domain status and troubleshooting
Analytics
My analytics show 0 after I scanned Most analytics update once a night, so today's scans appear tomorrow. Countries, Devices and the Hourly Profile show them within a few minutes. → Why today's numbers aren't shown yet
Trail visitor numbers look too high On qrforge.link, every page open counts as a visitor. → Visitors vs page opens
Creating and editing
"You have reached the maximum number of active QR codes allowed on your plan." Archive codes you no longer use, add more QR codes, or upgrade. → Plans and what's included
"Daily QR creation limit exceeded. Please try again later." / "Too many QR codes created recently. Please slow down." There is a limit on how many codes you can create in a short time. Wait and try again. If you need to create many codes, consider the API or contact support.
"This URL has been flagged as unsafe and cannot be saved." The address is on a list of known harmful sites. If you are sure it is safe, contact support.
A feature says it needs a higher plan Compare the plans. → Plans and what's included
I can't find a QR code It is probably in another project. Switch projects. → Switch projects
Sign-in and account
I keep getting signed out QRForge signs you out after 30 minutes without activity and 12 hours after sign-in. → Sign-in security
I forgot my password Use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. → Change your email or password
I didn't get the verification email Check spam, then click Resend verification email. → Create your account and sign in
"Payment failed. Update your payment method to keep your plan active." → Subscription, upgrade and cancel
Landing pages, trails and domains
An image won't upload Use PNG, JPEG or GIF under 50 MB. → Images and uploads
"This page was changed in another tab or device." Click Reload to load the latest version. → Publish, save and undo
A trail stop shows a placeholder, or the landing page isn't in the stop list → Trail troubleshooting
My custom domain is stuck in Pending DNS or Verifying → Domain status and troubleshooting

- Reload the page. Many temporary problems go away.
- Check the status page.
- Contact support with the exact error message.
