Share a trail

There are three ways to bring people to your trail:

  1. The entry QR code — print it where the trail starts. See Entry QR code and printing.
  2. The stop QR codes — print one at each stop. A visitor can start at any stop.
  3. The trail link — share it on your website, in emails, in social media posts or in chat apps.
  1. In the left menu, click Trails.
  2. On the trail's row, click Copy trail link.
  3. You see "Trail link copied to clipboard." Paste the link wherever you need it.

The link opens the trail's overview page. It looks like https://qrforge.link/t/.... If the trail's project has an active custom domain, the link uses your domain instead, for example https://links.example.com/t/....

To check what visitors see, click Preview trail on the same row.

Visitors can share the trail too

The overview page has a Share trail button. On phones it opens the phone's share menu. On computers it copies the link and shows "Link copied".

Ideas for promoting a trail

  • Put the entry QR code on posters, flyers, tickets, menus or table cards.
  • Add the trail link to your website and to your Google Business Profile.
  • Send the link to hotels, tourist offices and partners.
  • Mention the reward from your completion message, for example Finish the trail for a free coffee.

Pause or end a trail

Archive a trail to switch it off for a while:

  1. In Trails, on the trail's row, click Archive.
  2. You see "Trail archived." You can click Undo straight away.

While a trail is archived, its link and entry QR code show "This trail is no longer active." Its stop QR codes keep working: they open their landing pages without the trail controls. To switch the trail on again, click Restore.

Archived trails still count towards your plan's trail limit (50 on Pro, 250 on Agency, 500 on Enterprise).

Delete a trail to remove it for good:

  1. In Trails, on the trail's row, click Delete.
  2. Confirm in Delete trail? This cannot be undone.

Deleting a trail does not delete its stops' QR codes or landing pages.

Troubleshooting

The link shows "Trail not found" The trail was deleted, or the link was copied incompletely. Copy it again with Copy trail link.

The link shows "This trail is no longer active." The trail is archived, or your plan no longer includes trails. Restore the trail, or check your plan on the Subscription page.

The link uses qrforge.link, but I have a custom domain The custom domain must be Active and linked to the same project as the trail. See Domain status and troubleshooting.

"Could not update this trail." / "Could not delete this trail." Check your internet connection and try again.
